Each year the Coalition, with the help of hard working volunteers, puts on Project Connect, an annual service fair for people experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty in Greater Victoria.
An estimated 700 people attend Project Connect to access services, like foot care, haircuts, ID replacement, veterinary help, and medical attention and much more.
Attendees donโt just get access to much needed services; they are also treated to a barbecue and receive custom care packs filled with the necessities for the coming winter months.
We need help from the community to fill those care packs. You simply cannot underestimate the importance of a warm pair of socks, gloves or a toque when you are experiencing homelessness. Something as simple as a new razor, lip balm or a travel-sized bottle of shampoo can make a real difference for a person living in extreme poverty. Your generous contributions can have a big impact โ donate today.
Sample donations needed for Project Connect:
- Sports socks
- Gloves and mittens
- Toques
- Razors
- Deodorant
- Nail clippers and nail files
- Lip balm
- Feminine hygiene products
- Travel-sized personal hygiene products (i.e. shampoo, hand lotion, shaving cream)
- Granola bars and juice boxes, and other non-perishable snacks (i.e. crackers, easy-open tins)
This year Project Connect takes place on October 17 at Our Place (917 Pandora).
